3 Stars A great collection of recipes, although trapped in a limited software
I bought this CD online over a year ago and is the best collection of Weight Watcher recipes all in one place. It’s the WW SlimWays collections(Mexican, Italian, Grilling), the NEW Complete Cookbook..10 in all.

Regrettably, this CD is no longer supported by the orginal publisher and tech support has ceased. The ingredient database is limited and I haven’t been able to update some of the ingredients. The email function no longer works as the software was written for Windows 95. It will work in XP on some computers, but I would consider it solely a virtual WW recipe collection(pre-POINTS era-no POINTS on the recipes) with limited software features.

With the resurgence of the Weight Watchers brand, this CD has resurfaced and contains many good recipes.

It would be nice if another software company could license with WW and update this software with some XP functioning and add the POINTS to recipes.

5 Stars My #1 Ab Workout!
I am a big fan of ab workouts on DVD and this is definately my favorite. The intensity on the advanced ab segment is great. He go’s through each exercise for one minute and it is challenging!I haven’t used the remaining workout segments.

5 Stars Short but effective
This is a very versatile DVD. When I’m short on time, I’d pick this one because when I’m done, I’d truly feel that I had a good workout. On cardio day, I’d do the Speed Interval training on my rebounder so it would be easier on my knees and on strength training day, I’d do the Advanced Abs followed by the Muscle Toning routine. I use the warm up portion from this DVD and I just add a little more stretching on my own at the end. The Muscle Toning part where you’d have your arms above your head while doing squats for 90 seconds was VERY challenging. During the first round, I had 5 lb dumbbells on each hand and I almost didn’t finish it so the second time around, I used 3 lb dumbbells and I was breathing hard after 90 seconds. I’d be sore the next day or 2 after doing this routine…Highly recommend this DVD. It’s short but very effective in my opinion.

5 Stars Great workout!
I really like this workout DVD and it’s one of the ones I use consistently. Its offers great all around exercises for the whole body. Even though it’s a little tough, it’s fairly short and sweet.

3 Stars Have introductions/descriptions elsewhere, please

Good workout, with an instructor who cues well. Countdowns for the timed segments. Some beginner modifications.

What I didn’t like:

When you have a separate intro section, and this DVD does, introduce your fellow exercisers there, not in the workout segments. You get tired of hearing the intros each and every time. Same with the workout breakdown/technique explanations/equipment required, do it elsewhere, so that you’re not just standing there wasting time.

Warning to those who don’t like high-impact cardio, this DVD has some, and little in the way of modifications. Wouldn’t be quite so bad if it were done on grass or a mat or carpet. I wish people would remember that “aerobic” doesn’t necessarily have to be rough on the joints.

3.5 stars.

5 Stars Ahead of the class
I have been using this DVD through Netflix and as a person who is lethargic, I am still in the basic set of exercises. However, I have examined a number of workout videos and did not care for them, here’s why:

* In most DVDs, either the camera work, or the instructor leave you guessing as to what you are supposed to be doing. The instructor is excellent about explaining and cuing you to the next move.

* The instructors don’t necessarily explain what benefit you get out of the exercises, but this instructor does. Additionally, he will remind you of points to be concerned in the middle of an exercise so you can improve your workout and form.

* Most DVDs are too slow or too fast. This one lets you hurt yourself at your own pace — if you are not ready, you stick to basic. If you need more of a workout, you do the intermediate which is shown in parallel with the basic.

One minor update: It is good enough that I ordered it, so as not to tie up my Netflix slot any longer!

1 Star Disapointing for this beginner!
I wanted to lose some weight, be inspired and/or encouraged, and have a little fun doing it. OMG. What I got was a flash back to those horrible Jr. High Gym classes! This was the most boring workout I’ve ever done! The exercises reminded me of those dreaded jr high school gym classes and the ambiance is just as exciting. No inspiring music or encouraging words to be found on this dvd. I liked the You on a diet dvd so I mistakenly bought this workout dvd. If you are overweight with any back problems, knee problems, or the desire to be motivated don’t buy this dvd. Frankly, you watch two people exercising and hear boring instruction against a white backdrop. It was very home movie looking. You could get a better workout with those dvds they sell at the dollar store.

5 Stars Perfect workout video, has 3 levels, time flies by, excellent on all body areas
My husband and I decided to do the YOU on a Diet after the New Year. As part of the plan, we got the video You on a Diet Workout. I really like this workout, it targets your core, but does get all areas of your body. No extra things are needed, and the time flies right by. I am just about ready to start doing the second level and am looking forward to it! I have had other exercise videos, but none I liked as well.

5 Stars I Absolutely Love This DVD
I bought the book when it first came out and got the DVD for free (the very funny FBI warning at the beginning says please copy this and give it to everyone you know). The workouts are really only 20 minutes each and when you are done, you do feel that you got your workout in for the day. All of the workouts utilize the same moves but they do get harder and longer from Beginner to Advanced. Joel takes you through it in a nice down to earth way, so you feel like it’s just him and you working out together. I travel a lot for business and this really comes in handy when you don’t want to go to the hotel gym in your pjs or your hotel does not have a gym. [...]

5 Stars Nice and Doable
This is not a hard core workout by any definition, instead it is a nice workout that is gentle and easy to do.

I have been working on trying to get back into shape and have found the “You..” series extremely valueable including this.

Nice short routines with good stretching and enough of a workout that you feel your muscles moving and heart rate going but you do not feel like you are going to pass out. The beginners section is great is you are like me and just trying to get back into shape.

If you have the book, the DVD is a great addition.

Highly recommended.

5 Stars You On A Diet Workout
This book had a great deal of relevant information. It was well written and very helpful for a complete understanding of the body and nutrients.
